The Pembroke Pines Police Department will conduct background checks for Pembroke Lakes Optimist baseball and softball programs.
The Pembroke Pines Police Department will take walk-in background checks on Tuesdays between 9am and 5pm at the police station located at 9500 Pines Blvd. Please go to the 4th floor for coaching live scan.
Scheduled appointments at the Pembroke Pines Police Department can be made by calling the Pembroke Pines Police Background Unit at 954-431-2705.
All coaches and/or volunteers will have to fill out and sign the Live Scan and Waiver Agreement forms. Which can be found in our Handouts Section of the Website.
All coaches, optimist members and parent volunteers MUST have Level II background checks completed before the start of the upcoming season. No one is permitted to coach or volunteer without completing a background check. A separate notification will be sent out once the city has provided PLO with your badge. You will be required to provide a check made out to Pembroke Lakes Optimist (PLO) in the amount of $27.00 prior to receiving your badge. This fee and Level II background process is mandated by the City of Pembroke Pines.
